Education Vertical of Haryana Environment Protection Foundation (HEPF)- Faridabad Chapter organized an orientation meeting for Colleges and Universities in Faridabad at J.C Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA Faridabad recently. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of over 100 members including professors, department heads, faculty members and students.
Dr N.C. Wadhwa oriented the august gathering about the aims and objectives of HEPF which has been constituted in close collaboration with Deen Dayal Upadhyay Research Institute, New Delhi. He shared the gravity of the environmental crisis by quoting alarming statistics. Various activities which can be initiated at the individual level and contributes in a big way to the environment were also shared with the audience like adopting a tree, segregation of kitchen waste at source and being mindful of everyday activities. The initiative of organizing FEPSA (Faridabad Environment Protection Students Assembly) based on Model United Nations was highly appreciated by the audience.
The audience had members from Department of Environmental Sciences at various colleges. During the interactive session, they shared various initiatives taken by them like collecting whiteboard markers, recycling pens and aluminium foils, massive tree plantation drives, presenting saplings to guests, etc.
